Request for Official API or Home Assistant Integration for Leapmotor Vehicles
I am a Leapmotor owner and an active user of Home Assistant, a widely used open-source home automation platform. Many of us in the smart home and EV community rely on Home Assistant to centralize data, create automations, and maintain long-term historical records of our devices and vehicles. Currently, all interaction with Leapmotor vehicles (lock/unlock, vehicle location, charging status, battery level, etc.) is only possible through the official mobile application. While the app works well, the lack of an official integration or a public, authenticated API prevents users from accessing their own vehicle data programmatically and integrating it into their home automation systems. I would like to respectfully request one of the following options: An official Home Assistant integration developed or supported by Leapmotor, or A documented and secure public API that allows authenticated users to access their own vehicle data and perform permitted actions. This would bring several benefits: Improved user experience for technically inclined customers Better energy management and charging optimizations Advanced automations (e.g., charging based on solar production, presence detection, trip logging) Increased attractiveness of Leapmotor vehicles within the smart home and EV enthusiast communities Other EV manufacturers like Tesla have already taken steps in this direction, and such openness is often seen as a strong signal of innovation and customer focus. I understand the importance of security and privacy, and any API could be properly protected using modern authentication methods and clear usage limits. Thank you for considering this request. I believe this would be a valuable enhancement for many current and future Leapmotor customers.
