Turn signal on as long as turn signal lever is being pushed halfway up/down

In my previous cars I was used to push the turn signal lever only halfway when changing lanes. The turn signal stayed on as long as I pushed (up or down). When the manouvre was completed, I let the lever go and the turn signal turned off. In my B10 however, pushing the lever halfway down only leads to 3 "blinks", no matter how long the lever is pushed. The workaround (obviously) is pushing the lever over the "click" (just like everybody and myself included would do when waiting for a turn at the traffic lights or a 4-way stop or whatever), but the big downside (for me at least) is that I need to remember the blinkers are on an turn it off as soon as the manouvre is completed. So, I would really hope to see the behaviour of pushing the lever halfway up/down being changed.
