[B10] Optimization of LCC lane keeping systems and their personalization
The operation of the lane keeping systems in the current software version is imprecise and raises serious safety concerns. On roads with clear horizontal markings, the vehicle tends to "zigzag" between the lines instead of stably maintaining the center of the lane. The situation worsens on poorly marked roads, where algorithms misinterpret road edges, leading to dangerous, abrupt steering interventions (including attempts to swerve into the oncoming lane). Therefore, a software update for the cameras and ADAS logic is essential to eliminate erroneous environmental interpretation. It is also crucial to introduce changes to the user interface. I propose that all functions related to the lane assistant should have a "Remember last setting" option, which will eliminate the need to manually deactivate the system every time the vehicle is started. Additionally, the current configuration of the programmable button on the steering wheel is incomplete – it does not allow deactivation of all assistant modules at once, forcing the driver to navigate deep into screen menus while driving. It should be possible to assign full deactivation of LCC systems to a single shortcut, and furthermore, an automation module should be introduced in the menu that allows defining a custom safety profile activated, for example, after exceeding 10 km/h. This will increase safety, allowing the driver to focus on the road instead of fighting with an unpredictable assistant.
