C10 AWD - Breaking Control

The braking on the C10 is neither smooth nor linear. If you barely touch the pedal, it applies too much force, making smooth deceleration impossible. Furthermore, if you hold steady pressure, the braking power fades, causing the car to roll forward. You have to constantly increase pressure just to keep the car slowing down. It is also impossible to 'smooth out' the stop at the final moment. Because the tension in the springs and the mass of the car don't release properly, the car wobbles or jerks when coming to a halt. In slippery conditions, it locks up too easily; on dry roads, the bite is so aggressive it snaps your neck. The same issue occurs when braking in reverse." Understanding the Braking Curve To fix this, you need a Non-Linear Braking Map. Currently, your car seems to have a "S-curve" or an aggressive "Gamma" curve where the initial bite is too high (y-axis) for a small amount of input (x-axis). To achieve a smooth stop, we want to create a Concave Curve. This allows for "fine-tuned" control at the start of the pedal press and a gradual release at the end to settle the car's weight. Suggested Custom Profile: "The Smooth Operator" If you are using a tuning software that allows for a custom curve, try these parameters: Input (Pedal %) Output (Braking Force) Effect 0% – 20% / 5% – 10% Soft "deadzone" to prevent neck-snapping. 20% – 70% / 10% – 60% Linear progression for predictable slowing. 70% – 100% / 60% – 100% High pressure only when you really floor it. Technical Tip: To stop the "wobble" at the end, you need to reduce the Brake Pressure Bias. If the front of the car is diving too hard, shift some of the braking force to the rear wheels (e.g., a 54/46 split) to keep the chassis level.
