Headlight behaviour while charging and staying in the car
When I arrive at a charger in the dark and stay inside the car during the charging session (for example at fixed DC chargers), the B10 keeps the low‑beam headlights on as long as the “Auto” light setting is active. This means I am continuously shining dipped beams into the mirrors and faces of other drivers and pedestrians, even though I am not actually driving. To avoid that, I currently have to go into the light settings every time, change away from Auto while I am charging, and then remember to change it back before driving off. For me, this issue only really exists in the specific case “car is in Park, charging is active, and the driver/passengers stay inside”. When I get out, close the doors and lock the vehicle, the lights correctly switch off and there is no problem. My suggestion is that as soon as a charging session is initiated and the car is in Park, the exterior lighting should automatically change from low‑beam headlights to a “charging light mode”. Ideally this mode would be configurable by the user, for example: – DRL only (no dipped beam), or – very dimmed DRL (car just lightly visible), or – all exterior lights off. When charging ends or when I shift out of Park to drive away, the system should automatically return to normal Auto headlight behaviour. This would avoid unnecessary glare at chargers, reduce the need to manually override the light settings, and still keep the car visible in the way the driver prefers while it is parked and charging.
