Allow Cruise Control and ACC when using a Bicycle Rack on the Tow Hitch
When a bicycle rack is connected to the tow hitch, the Leapmotor C10 automatically enters trailer mode and disables Cruise Control and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC). This appears to happen because the vehicle detects a connected device via the trailer electrical socket but does not distinguish between a trailer and a bicycle carrier. For many owners, this creates a significant usability issue during long-distance travel. A bicycle rack does not behave like a trailer and should not necessarily require the same restrictions on driver assistance systems. This is especially important for European customers and particularly for the German market, where towing and bicycle transport are very common use cases. Most German and European vehicles allow Cruise Control to remain active when towing a trailer, and almost all allow it when using a bicycle rack. As a result, many customers expect this functionality as a standard feature. Expected behavior: Detect and differentiate between a trailer and a bicycle rack. Alternatively, provide a user-selectable option such as "Trailer" or "Bicycle Rack". Allow standard Cruise Control when a bicycle rack is attached. Ideally, allow ACC as well, provided there are no safety-related limitations. At minimum, allow Cruise Control while towing a trailer, in line with common practice among European manufacturers. Benefits: Improved user experience for customers who frequently transport bicycles. Better suitability for long-distance travel, holidays, and towing. Alignment with customer expectations in key European markets. Improved competitiveness against established European brands. Can potentially be implemented through an OTA software update without hardware changes. Several C10 owners have already reported this behavior in owner communities and would appreciate an OTA-based solution. Personally, this limitation is significant enough to influence my purchasing decision. The inability to use Cruise Control with a bicycle rack or while towing makes the C10 less attractive compared to competing vehicles that support these functions.
