🔥 Leapmotor B05: 11 Must-Have Software Improvements & Bugs to Fix in the Next OTA

Leapmotor B05 – Software Improvement Requests Vehicle: Leapmotor B05 Software version: LeapOS 3.42.17 Vehicle Color Customization on the Infotainment Screen Please add an option to select the color of the vehicle displayed in the infotainment system. Ideally, the system should automatically display the actual factory color of the specific vehicle. Alternatively, users should be able to manually select the vehicle color from the available B05 colors. Sentry / Parking Surveillance Mode Please add a Sentry or Parking Surveillance Mode that can operate while the vehicle is parked and locked. The existing external cameras could be used to detect movement, impacts or suspicious activity around the vehicle and automatically record short video clips. Ideally, events and recordings should also be accessible through the Leapmotor mobile app. Display AC Charging Power in kW During AC charging, please display the actual charging power in kW. Currently, the charging screen mainly shows battery voltage and current. While this information is useful, most drivers want to immediately know the charging power being delivered to the vehicle. For example: AC Charging Power: 7.2 kW Voltage and current could still be displayed as additional technical information. Automatic Home and Work Route Prediction Please add automatic destination and route prediction based on driving habits, current location and time of day. For example, if the driver normally leaves home for work at approximately 08:00, the navigation system could automatically suggest the route to work when entering the vehicle. Similarly, when leaving work in the afternoon, it could automatically suggest the route home. Ideally, the system could also display current traffic conditions and estimated travel time automatically. Netflix and Full Web Browser Please add an official Netflix application and a full web browser to LeapOS. The browser should allow users to freely enter URLs and visit normal websites rather than being limited to predefined links. For safety reasons, video playback and unrestricted web browsing could be limited to when the vehicle is parked. Start and Drive Without NFC Card or PIN Please allow the vehicle to be started and driven automatically when an authorized smartphone/Bluetooth key is detected. The driver should not need to present the NFC card or enter a PIN every time. Ideally, the vehicle should detect the authorized phone, unlock automatically and become ready to drive when the driver enters and presses the brake pedal. Security-sensitive users could still enable PIN-to-Drive as an optional setting. Improve Wi-Fi Network Compatibility Please improve Wi-Fi compatibility. Some Wi-Fi networks that work correctly with other devices cannot be connected to from the B05. LeapOS displays a message asking the user to try another network. Please improve compatibility with different Wi-Fi configurations and provide more detailed error information when a connection fails, such as authentication failure, DHCP failure, unsupported security protocol or captive portal. Full-Stop One-Pedal Driving Please improve One-Pedal Driving so that the vehicle can come to a complete stop without requiring the driver to press the brake pedal. When One-Pedal Driving is enabled, releasing the accelerator should provide progressive regenerative braking down to 0 km/h, followed by automatic hold. The selected One-Pedal setting should also remain saved between driving sessions. Adjustable External Pedestrian Warning Sound Volume Please provide an option to reduce the external pedestrian warning sound to the lowest volume legally permitted. The current sound can be clearly heard from inside the cabin and can become uncomfortable during low-speed driving. The system should always comply with European AVAS safety regulations, but the vehicle could automatically use the minimum legally permitted sound level whenever possible. Front Parking Distance Detection Using Cameras Please use the front cameras to provide better distance information when approaching objects during parking manoeuvres. The vehicle could estimate the distance to walls, other vehicles and obstacles using the existing camera system and provide visual and/or acoustic warnings. Ideally, the 360° camera interface could display an approximate distance to the closest frontal obstacle, for example: 80 cm → 50 cm → 30 cm This would be particularly useful when parking the vehicle in tight spaces or approaching a garage wall. Speed Limit Sign Recognition Error in Spain Bug report: There appears to be an issue with the Intelligent Speed Assist (ISA) / traffic sign recognition system when driving in Spain. On some occasions, instead of displaying the detected speed limit, the instrument cluster displays a speed-limit traffic sign containing the text “Error”. This should be investigated, as the vehicle should either display the correctly detected speed limit or clearly indicate that no reliable speed-limit information is currently available. Please review the compatibility of the traffic sign recognition system and map-based speed-limit data with Spanish roads and traffic signs. Expected behaviour: The system should correctly recognize and display Spanish speed-limit signs. If the speed limit cannot be determined reliably, it should display an appropriate “unknown/unavailable” indication instead of a traffic sign showing “Error”.
