automatic high beams permanently off after disabling them via steering column stalk

PRECONDITION: Automatic high beams option is enabled in the infotainment lights menu. STEPS TO REPRODUCE / ACTION: Deactivate the automatic high beams by pressing the steering column stalk forward for \~two seconds CURRENT BEHAVIOR: Automatic high beams turn off, and the corresponding telltale in the instrument cluster display disappears. In the infotainment menu, the toggle for automatic high beams remains displayed as ON. It is impossible to reactivate automatic high beams during the current drive cycle: Pushing/pulling the steering column stalk has no effect. Toggling the option OFF and ON again in the infotainment menu does not re-enable the feature. EXPECTED BEHAVIOR: Automatic high beams should be re-activatable at any time during the same drive cycle, either via the steering column stalk or by toggling the menu switch. The state in the infotainment menu should always stay in sync with the actual status of the feature.
